How I Fixed the Xbox 360 RROD in Under an Hour
Tuesday, September 8th, 2009After much aggravation, I finally figured out how to fix my Xbox 360 after it got the dreaded red ring of death. I can’t believe that over half of Xbox 360 owners have been hit with this ring. Talk about a faulty product!
I was at my house with some friends on Friday night, and we were all having a great time. It was all about Madden 10 as some preseason football games were on in the background. Then, the screen suddenly froze. I had a bad feeling.
We turned off the Xbox 360 console and turned it back on, and the three blinking red lights showed their face - the RROD. I wasn’t happy about this at all.
What a way to ruin a night. My friend Scott was over and told me that he heard Microsoft is recently taking 8 weeks and more to fix it, and they often slap you with some unexpected bills. The average price of this can be up to $100.
I decided to call my friend James. He knows everything about these things. He pointed me to a guide that his brother had used to fix his Xbox 360 in less than an hour.
Interestingly, they guaranteed you’d have it fixed in under an hour by following some easy instructions, or they’d give you all of your money back. Why not? What’s to lose besides a little time?
Lo and behold, this guide shared a few possible solutions with me and gave me a number of different suggestions. 25 minutes into the whole thing, I was literally back in action. And it was only 8:30 at night, so there was plenty of time left to get back to our Madden (and then some Halo 3).
I don’t trust Microsoft’s products anymore, but hopefully my red ring days are in the past. If it does come back (I’m sure it will with my luck), I have this guide to get me through the issues, and I’ll probably have it fixed in half the time next time around.
I would absolutely recommend taking a look at this product if your 360 has died on you. They offer sensible solutions that are guaranteed to work. And if they don’t, you didn’t pay a dime. Best of luck to you in your situation!
